Kona Colville Connection

As part of the “New Caledonia New Zealand Season 2007” 6 cyclists are coming to New Zealand to compete in the Kona Colville Connection, the festival of mountain biking adventure riding in the Coromandel.

The 72km ride starts in Colville, passes through hilly country up the east coast to Stony Bay, rounds the remote end of the peninsula on a dedicated MTB track to meet the road end at Fletcher Bay, before returning to Colville along the unspoilt rocky coastline. Riders climb to around 500 vertical metres with spectacular views. This is a demanding ride with a number of climbs, one of which most riders need to walk.
